how ya be?

“How ya be?”, my favorite question to ask people when they arrive in the space (shoutout @kaylastrongtaylor for initiating that).

it cuts directly to the heart of what we’re working towards - how do you be when you’re out living your life? it’s revealing - it gives direct access into where you’re attention is pointed.

in our current “holistic” world, I notice how much “stuff” people feel like they have to do. almost every week someone says they “should” do more of xyz…they need to go see 4 practitioners, eat more of something, go to 10 workout classes, meditate more, on and on and on and on.

and maybe that’s true, when it comes up spontaneously and sincerely from YOU without the distortion or influence of someone or something outside of yourself.

many of us live in the “rat-race” mode, caught up in “perceived need” to do something all the time in order to be healthy or “heal”. in the true healing work, our “work” is not so much external as it is internal.

learning and remembering how to connect with ourselves, instead of looking everywhere else for answers or someone to tell us what to do, is the name of the healing game. remember that bringing your attention into how you “be” is a far more potent tool than all the things you “do” and is a far more active process than you may think.
